Could this be more ridicule of our society?
Senator Rick Santorum, author of "It takes a family:Conservatism and the Common Good" stated today on CNN's Lou Dobbs that both Republicans and Democrats have been remiss legislators to protect and instill family values in the nation.
He noted that 75% of the broken families were impoverished. (There is a major Socio-Economic-Ethnic group that comprises this segment of society.)
He also stated as a nation we need to stop RADICAL 'Individualism' and 'Democracy.'
Oh, really.
The people Senator Santorum who states he is running for a Senate seat again is trying to reach cannot afford his $25.00 book.
Those statements tell me he would rather personally profit from the sale of a book by making example of inequity of power in the minority ethnicity in this country than legislate in their favor.
He is running for re-election.
He had his chance, even according to his standards he had his chance.
Rich wants to talk about the poor. Wasn't there three children lost in Camden that could easily portray the same issues 'the poor' face in most cities such as Philadelphia due to a playground out of impoverishment in the truck of a car?
Ricky Santorum is an extremist Neocon who thinks his ideology is all he needs to 'get by' in life.

The poor in the USA have dangerous playgrounds for their children that cause tragic and unnecessary deaths.
Why Did No One Check The Trunk?
Investigators and residents of Camden, New Jersey, want to know why no one bothered to open the trunk of an abandoned car where three young boys missing for two days were discovered dead.
Autopsies on the boys showed they died from accidental suffocation, not foul play, said Camden County Prosecutor Vincent Sarubbi.
Sarubbi said investigators believe Daniel Agosto, 6, his 5-year-old friend Jesstin Pagan and 11-year-old Anibal Cruz entered the trunk while playing and the trunk accidently slammed shut on them.
The heart-wrenching search for the youths came to a horrifying end Friday when the father of one of the victims finally searched the trunk of the beat up Toyota Camry, which was parked in tall grass in the same yard where the boys were last seen.
Officials believe the car had been searched earlier in the hunt, but the trunk was overlooked. A neighbor was watching when David Agosto made the tragic discovery.
"I saw him open the trunk and he just started screaming and he collapsed to the ground," said Carmen Villa, 37, who lives across the street.
With that, part of the mystery was solved, but in other ways it was only deepened.
"There is much in this situation that defies explanation," said Sarubbi. He said it was unbelievable that hundreds of people could comb the area so intensely and still no one heard or saw anything around the vehicle.
"It's just a tragedy," said Melissa Martinez, 25, weeping as she watched from Villa's front yard across the street as police began cordoning off the scene. "They've been there all the time. We were just standing here yesterday saying `Where could they be?' and the whole time, they were right there. It's just heartbreaking."
The boys vanished without a trace Wednesday night while playing in the yard, according to authorities.
For two days, strangers handed out missing persons fliers to passing motorists, civilians aided in the search and everyone wondered how three children could suddenly go missing at once.
The disappearances triggered a search in which 150 police, firefighters and other law enforcement personnel scoured the neighborhoods of this poor city across the Delaware River from Philadelphia.
But it turned up nothing, until Agosto's father made the grisly discovery. He broke out in tears, throwing himself against a car, and was later taken away on a stretcher by paramedics, crying and flailing his arms and legs.
According to Police Chief Edwin Figueroa, the vehicle, which neighbors said had sat unused in the yard for three months, had been searched before, but apparently the trunk went unchecked.
Cruz and Agosto both lived in the vibrant multiethnic Cramer Hill neighborhood where the bodies were found. Pagan lived in neighboring Mount Ephraim and was visiting Cruz's home when they disappeared.

Newly released reports on three boys' deaths point to "communications failures" among family and police.

Officials blamed for deaths of 3 boys
A self-appointed panel castigated "the command structure" for failing to rescue the boys in June.

A citizens group that examined the deaths of three boys in a car trunk in June has faulted a range of city and county officials and singled out one Camden police lieutenant for failing to search the vehicle fully.
It also absolved the boys' families of any responsibility.
The self-appointed group, whose six members include political opponents of the city administration, released its findings at a news conference yesterday at the Walt Whitman Center for the Arts in Camden. It calls itself the Citizens Independent Review Panel.
"The command structure is responsible, the chief of police, prosecutor, mayor and [Camden's chief operating officer]... . These people owe it to the citizens to step up to the plate and say, 'We're responsible,' " said Keith Walker, cochair of the group and an unsuccessful candidate in the May election for Camden mayor.
The group also called for the implementation "without further delay" of a reform plan the police department is undertaking that will divide the city into four districts, each under the command of a captain.
The three boys - Anibal "Juni" Cruz, 11, Daniel "Danny" Agosto, 6, and Jesstin "Manny" Pagan, 5 - were last seen around 5 p.m. on June 22 and reported missing more than three hours later, sparking a massive two-day search. Their bodies were discovered on the evening of June 24 in the trunk of a 1992 Toyota Camry parked in the same yard in Camden's Cramer Hill section where they last had been seen.
The boys survived in the trunk for between 13 and 33 hours before suffocating, a medical examiner's report said, suggesting that immediate discovery would have saved their lives.
A review by a special three-member panel appointed by Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and released on Aug. 2 listed a number of opportunities to discover the boys that had been missed by police and families. That panel's central recommendation was for all county law enforcement agencies to adopt national missing-child guidelines, which include searching inside cars.
But it did not name any officers or recommend any disciplinary action.
Walker yesterday called for disciplinary action against officers involved in the search, saying: "If it is not taken, it is a disservice to the community."
Former Camden Police Chief Robert Allenbach is listed as a cochair of the panel, but he did not appear at the news conference. Reached yesterday by phone, Allenbach said he was on his way to the Arctic region to hunt caribou. He said that he had not yet seen the report but that he agreed with some points Walker had read to him over the phone.
Allenbach, who was suspended in 2003 after Sarubbi found he failed "miserably" to implement state-recommended changes in the way he operated the police department, said the boys' deaths would not have occurred on his watch. "I'd have been at the scene," he said. "That trunk would have been opened. Anybody who knows how I was as a cop knows that to be true."
Camden Police Chief Edwin Figueroa said of the citizens group: "I'm sure they had their own agenda."
Figueroa said that there was no plan to discipline anyone involved in the search but that officers would receive additional training.
"We made a mistake," the chief said, adding that he accepted ultimate responsibility.
The prosecutor's report had said the Cruz family knew that Anibal played in the car but that "information was not made known to the Camden Police Department or the families of the other boys until after the bodies were discovered."
Walker disputed that yesterday, saying that Anibal's mother, Elba Cruz, said in an interview that she had no knowledge that her son regularly played in the car. He added that the families bear "zero blame" for what happened and that, by pinning culpability on them, officials were trying to "sweep the matter under the rug."
In a statement, Sarubbi defended the review he ordered as "fair, even-handed, well documented and credible." He added that the "vast majority of the report documents flaws and failures in police procedure" and does not assign equal blame to the parents.
The citizens group's report harshly criticized Lt. Nicole Martin, one of first officers to arrive on the scene. Citing the official account of another officer, Detective Tyree Nobles, who had written that Martin told him the car was "clear," the group stated that this claim "was misleading and was the main reason the search went askew."
However, Allenbach yesterday described Martin as "good people" and said he did not know whether she did anything wrong.
Martin wrote in her report that that she "looked inside the interior of what appeared to be an abandoned vehicle." It does not mention the trunk.
Martin could not be reached for comment yesterday.
John Williamson, president of Camden's Fraternal Order of Police, said he would "not dignify" the comments about Martin with a response.
Williamson argued that Walker "had no credibility whatsoever" and accused him of trying to exploit the tragedy for political gain.
He added that he believed many people, including Anibal's mother, share responsibility for what happened. "If you look at it in its totality, everyone failed," he said.
Walker said he was not exploiting the tragedy. "My political agenda did not cause the death of the three children," he said.
Noting that two command posts had been set up, the group's report claimed that a "serious breakdown in the command and control" hindered the search. It also alleged that a K-9 handler, Bruce Kanis, was rebuffed when he requested that his dogs be permitted to search cars in the area of the yard where the boys disappeared.
Figueroa said the police opted not to use Kanis' dogs because a bloodhound from the Cherry Hill Police Department was already being used.
At yesterday's news conference, Angel Cordero, a member of the citizens group and a Camden activist, said many people were too quick to place blame on the parents.
"If they live in the city of Camden and they are black and Hispanic and poor, they are automatically labeled as a poor parent," Cordero said. "Nobody would be blaming them if they lived in Cherry Hill."

Kuwait offers to build first refinery in U.S. in 30 years
Sept. 19, 2005, 8:34AM
Cartel is seeking a project partner but doesn't hint at a possible locationCopyright 2005 Houston Chronicle
Kuwait is in talks with the Bush administration to build an oil refinery in the United States, seeking to construct the nation's first new plant in three decades as gasoline and diesel prices surge to records.
The cartel's president, Sheik Ahmed Fahd Al Ahmed Al Sabah, said he made the offer earlier this month and expects a reply next month. He said he's seeking a joint venture partner in the project and White House assistance in gaining the necessary permits.
Sheik Ahmed didn't say how much the refinery might cost or where it may be located. White House spokesman David Almacy couldn't immediately comment on the matter.
OPEC should increase its output ceiling this week, even amid signs of slowing demand, to show the world that it is concerned about near-record oil prices, Sheik Ahmed said Sunday ahead of a key policy meeting.
Sheik Ahmed, who is also Kuwait's oil minister, said the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries may even need to act again before the end of the year as U.S. refineries hit by Hurricane Katrina recover and the Northern Hemisphere's winter sets in.
"We think we need to send a message to everybody there will be extra oil in the market — we've accepted the idea — to stabilize the price," Sheik Ahmed said.
OPEC is poised to increase its output ceiling, currently 28 million barrels a day, by 500,000 barrels a day.
Oil Minister Ali Naimi of Saudi Arabia, the OPEC member with the best capacity to increase production, has said he supports a ceiling hike, but that he also did not see demand for more crude. He did not specify the size of the increase.
Sheik Ahmed said that while the market is oversupplied by 1.5 million barrels a day, and there are indications demand for crude is slowing, a further increase of the output ceiling may be needed as the high-demand winter season approaches and capacity knocked out by Katrina is restored.
"I think in November some refineries will come back in the south of the United States, and if the winter is cold, we have to do our best to increase real production," he said.
Mum on quota hike He said OPEC had 1 million barrels a day in extra production, but would not say how much the possible quota increase later this year would be.
OPEC was originally expected to make its output decision today, but that has been delayed until Tuesday to accommodate a celebration of 40 years since it moved its headquarters to Vienna, Austria, as well as ministerial talks on a new long-term strategy.
$60 'a high price' Qatar's Oil Minister Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah said $60 a barrel was a high price for crude and that OPEC was not trying to protect it.
"I believe it's a high price. It's not our intention to protect $60; we're not aiming for that," al-Attiyah said.
Al-Attiyah said the problems with U.S. refineries being off-line since Katrina hit were temporary, but the capacity "will take a few months to get back to full production."
"The problem today is the shortage of products, not crude oil," he said.
There appears to be increasing volumes of crude that the U.S. doesn't need, creating a dilemma for OPEC.
"The oil problem is clearly downstream — insufficient refinery capacity," said Johannes Benigni, president and CEO of PVM Oil Associates of Vienna. "Already OPEC members find it difficult to find a market for their crude oil, they're really struggling to place their barrels."
Because of a surplus of crude and lack of refinery capacity, "we may expect a significant increase in U.S. commercial crude oil inventories even if OPEC does nothing," he said. "Refinery tightness is going to keep prices high."

The last time Kuwait invested in the USA it proved to be a breach in national security then they were able to obtain secured information regarding the airlines and buildings of 911 as Bush's brother, Marvin, owned the security company of The Twin Trade Towers, United Airlines and American Airlines. So not that Marvin has profitting off Iraq it is looking as though the war is coming to a close with the American people and this 'Hurricane' has served a purpose for Marvin to come home and grow an oil processing plant in cooperation with Kuwait.
What RECORD does Marvin have with Kuwait besides his now defunct security business?
"...But then, making money off wars in the Middle East is nothing new for Marvin. Back in 1993, after the first gulf war, he joined his father (3 months out of office), on a trip to Kuwait. Where, according to the March 16, 2001 Austin Chronicle, "Marvin was representing U.S. defense firms selling electronic fences to the Kuwaiti Defense Ministry."
From 1993 to 2000, Marvin was also a major shareholder in the Kuwait-American Corp, which had holdings in a wide variety of US defense, aviation and industrial security companies.
No doubt about it, W's perpetual war on terror, is very profitable for the Bush Boys...."
Another national security breach that we'll be stuck with post Bush/Cheney and we'll have to guard against for the every city in the nation. I understand Osama will be the Plant Manager responsible for deliveries of gas tankers to most major cities !!

We want Sgt. Brantley home.
End of discussion.
July 4, 2005 at 11:10 AM. As soon as this posting went up CNN changed their message and the words regarding the 'fitness' of the Iraqi forces was eliminated and there were news snippets stating suicide bombings are still killing Iraqi citizens regardless of the efforts of joint ventures of Iraqi and USA forces. That's right. There are going to be suicide bombings, assassinations and all kinds of problems in Iraq for a long, long time. We don't make a difference and the people of Iraq need to solve their own problems as well as make them.
The segment this American took part in was enjoying the holiday at a basketball court in a tournament that was exclusively American in participation.
That is unfortunate.
In addition, this was at Sadr City.
Since the time the USA was the enemy to the people in that city, a Shi'ite Ayatollah have brought understanding between the USA military and his flock. The 'peace' the USA military is experiencing in Sadr City today, is not related to their offensive or the killing of people there, whom originally were seen as 'insurgents.' The peace of Sadr City today directly belongs to Ayatollah al Sistani and Cleric al Sadr. Sadr City was named for the Clerics father. Much can happen in the way of peace when Holy Men are allowed to lead a political process that leads to understanding and peace.
The USA press regardless of it's agency chronically downplays and completely ignores the importance of Iraqis Holy Men and their desire to have a country pure of spirit, trusting Allah in the heart of Islam.
The USA Press regardless of agency give ALL improvements of peace in Iraq to the killing of Iraqi insurgents by the USA military when it is the furthest from the truth. The precense of the USA military CAUSES escalation in attacks as demonstrated by the former battles at Sadr City and Kufa/Najaf. The experience the Iraqi Holy Men have with their people today is grossly different than a year ago. As with any other new experience there is a learning curve with this process and it is a challenge for ancient faiths to adapt their people to every change they face.
This change and learning cannot and will not occur while conducted in violence. This is demonstrated by the increased USA military deaths in Iraq since sovereignty and the fact Bush lost control of his battlefield more over the last year reliquishing OUR military to a foreign authority.
We don't belong in Iraq.
We never did.
Removing Saddam was right. Causing a great deal of Iraqi death and hardship was not the way to do it. The 'face' of the invasion was never about removing Saddam it was about finding and removing Weapons of Mass Destruction that had the ability to be used against the USA. That danger never existed. This adminstration deceived us but never deceived the UN or the world. Today, the Iraqi people still don't have control of their oil fields but the stockholders of Cheney's Halliburton STILL do.
The change in presentation of the facts above leaves no doubt there are 'huge' shadows over the reporting of CNN as it propagandizes to benefit the Bush/Cheney Political Agenda. This administration has placed this country in profound debt for a war that serves their political purposes. The words of USA Generals cannot be trusted as it only "puppets" the words of the politicians.
Generals were trained to carry out war and not peace.
The increase of danger and war escalation in Afghanistan is due to the latest 'hit' the USA military took while coming very close if not on top of a Taliban Stronghold in the mountains between Afghanistan and Pakistan. We have found very possibily Osama bin Laden and the USA military in Afghanistan needs bolstering by the active duty troops in Iraq while the Iraqi forces replace them in that country.
Our first loyality is to the enemies of this country and not the oil barrons of Iraq.
Bush/Cheney/Halliburton/Rumsfeld/Rice/FOX News/CNN are placing our nation in danger. The focus of this administration and it's propaganda is based in politics and not the needs of this country. July 5, 2005. 5:12 pm John King states we are back in business in Iraq.
That would include the USA and it's possibly remaining $12 billion. My deepest sympathies for the deaths of all those in Iraq. The point here is that the message from CNN is as confused and spun as it is from Bush/Cheney/Rove.
Who are we to believe?

CNN's John King. Propagandist. Neocon. Fear Monger. Who needs it? The amount of garbage spewed over the airwaves by this man has won him recognition here. It never stops. He must own stock in Cheney. Rubbing elbows with Karl is not above him I am sure.
Cheny - The American Al Qaeda
Once again the Bush/Cheney Administration and CNN are raising the 'fear factor' in the USA stating it is NECESSARY to be assaulted psychologically to have freedom.
What?
The problem with rail transportation everywhere is the LACK of HOMELAND SECURITY.
Cheney is a domestic 'fear monger' and nothing else.
Does he have SOLUTIONS to the dangers we face in society?
NO !!!
All he and his propaganda networks have is supplying NOT 'Peace of Mind' but stimulating the Fear Factor.
Get lost Dick !!
Solutions DO NOT include psychological attacks on the American People.
What idiots are these.

The triumph of neoconservatives in Iraq (Click Here)
In particular, Khalilzad is a pivotal factor in the Iraqi equation. Khalilzad was a member of the team that planned the invasion of Iraq and aggressively promoted a vision for Iraq where the Iraqis play only an advisory role in determining the future of their country. As a hard line neoconservative, he is an adamant advocate of the virtue of perpetual war and the use of forceful approaches to world problems. When Henry Kissinger, a neoconservative strategist, in November 2001 articulated a plan for creating “a central Kabul government of limited reach, with tribal autonomy prevailing in various regions,” in Afghanistan, it was Khalilzad who translated it into a reality.
Back in 1970s, the neoconservatives recognised that Iraq constituted a threat to their design for the Middle East. Not because Iraq has ample natural resources, especially oil and water, but because the Iraqis were considered a spirited and cultured people, displaying pride, patriotism, and independent thinking. General Eric Shinseki, then the US army chief of staff, pointed out in 2002 that Paul Wolfowitz, as a young Pentagon analyst and a neoconservative, designated Iraq in 1979 as a menace that must be dealt with. Since then, the invasion and occupation of Iraq has been primarily a neoconservative venture.

"Yellow cake” is raw uranium that is converted and enriched, then put in tubes with centrifuges; other steps take place before it becomes nuclear fuel or is enhanced so that is can produce nuclear weapons.
The yellow cake documents, which alleged that Iraq tried to buy yellow cake from Niger, were not just a mistake but an intentional forgery. The forgers have now been caught in a trap of their arrogance and hatred. When the documents reached the US, the State Department and CIA doubted their authenticity, but the war party opted to send Joseph Wilson, a former ambassador to Africa and the husband of Valerie Plame, to Niger to investigate the matter. Wilson returned and announced decisively that the documents were a forgery. He wrote an article about this in the New York Times – the war party was enraged and leaked the name of his wife, a CIA agent. This gave rise to an investigation, which has now expanded in scope. The forgers know that if the charges are verified they are guilty of mass murder, punishable by death. The information that is now available says that Niger’s Embassy in Rome had a break-in in January 2001, while the home of the counselor in charge suffered a similar break-in. Blank embassy stationery was stolen.
This is where one of the nastiest and most dangerous Israeli apologists, Michael Ledeen, comes in to the picture. He was accused in the Iran-Contra scandal, but after George Bush Sr. pardoned him, Ledeen found his way back into the corridors of power.
In December 2001, Ledeen, White House advisor Karl Rove and Douglas Feith organized a meeting in Rome attended by:
•Larry Franklin, the man now accused of spying for Israel.
•Harold Rhode, from the Office of Special Plans, headed by Feith; Rhode was Franklin’s colleague.
•Nicolo Pollari, the then-head of Italy’s version of the CIA.
•Antonio Martino, the then-Italian defense minister.
•Manucher Ghorbanifar, an Iranian arms merchant, and Iranian dissidents.
During the meeting, the Niger-uranium documents were discussed, as presented by Rocco Martino, a former Italian intelligence agent. The documents were childish in their forgery and French intelligence had already rejected them. The Italian magazine Panorama also casted doubt on them.
But the grouping of Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, Lewis Libby, and Karl Rove immediately adopted them, and presented them to the President as confirmed evidence.
Actually, the matter goes back to 2001, a date that precedes the well-known terrorism of this year, confirming the intention for war for a certain reason, or no reason. It’s now known that George Bush and Tony Blair set down their planning for war a full year before it began, which means that they intended to go to war, whether or not there were reasons to justify such a step.
Who were the forgers? Nora Rosen in Washington Monthly said that Ghorbanifar informed her that he held 50 meetings with Ledeen after 11 September 2001 and that he gave Ledeen 4-5,000 sensitive documents.
The investigation will determine how many of those forged documents reached the Office of Special Plans, run by Feith, with Ledeen as his advisor.
Ledeen is a Likudist extremist who hates Arabs and Muslims; he’s been an Israeli apologist throughout his career in the administration and outside, with the goal of serving Israel. As he was linked to Iran-Contra, he has always been the subject of suspicions about his Israeli ties.
If Ledeen had been tried as he deserved, the US wouldn’t have arrived at Iran-Contra. If he had gone to prison for that scandal, he wouldn’t have told us about plans to go to war against Iran after Iraq. He wouldn’t have been a disgusting extremist waging campaigns against Saudi Arabia and Syria, blind to the crimes of the Sharon government against children.
In 1983, Ledeen was a consultant on terrorism with the Pentagon, at the recommendation of Richard Perle. His direct superior was Noel Koch, Assistant Secretary of Defense for National Security issues. He quickly noticed that Ledeen was concerned with reading classified reports. When the two men went to Rome on a special mission, Koch heard from the head of the CIA group that when Ledeen worked in Rome as a correspondent for the New Republic, a neo-conservative magazine today, he was registered as an agent of a foreign government (Israel).
There is considerable information in the congressional investigation into Iran-Contra. Oliver North asked National Security Council director John Poindexter that Ledeen be subject to a lie-detector test on a regular basis. It later appeared that Ledeen had tried to guarantee the sale to Israel of TOW missiles at $2,500 a piece, even though it had earlier bought them for $6,800 each.
This man is completely Israeli and should not be allowed to work in the US administration or remain there. Let the investigation, or investigations, arrive at the truth. If Ledeen ends up in jail, as he deserves, maybe he’ll meet a tough guy there who will fall in love with him. The blood of Arabs and Muslims is unimportant, as we all know, so the Israeli mafia should be tried for killing America’s young people.

Skilled Staff under Duress found a good deal of luck along with talent today.
July 26, 2005. Shuttle Discovery Launched. The Redundency of the Safety Measures were compromised today. The staff at the news conference shows a great deal of stress in respond to added pressure to make sure a COMPROMISED Safty Margin didn't kill astronauts. My objection still stands and this is literally an administration that flys by the seat of their pants without regard to anything expect a political agenda. This was to EXONERATE a desperate administration from it's growing scandal.
The reduncency needed when there are two vital sensors that are fail safe and shut down engines requires one back up sensor for each operational sensor. This was completely fool hardy.
Shuttle Launches as Planned, Starting 12-Day Journey in Space
"A malfunction in the fuel level sensor system caused NASA to scrub its first launching attempt, on July 13. The sensors are important because they keep the shuttle's main engines from running on empty - a situation that could cause them to tear apart, with potentially disastrous results for the shuttle and crew. If two of the sensors indicate the shuttle's tank is nearly empty, they will set off an engine shutdown."

Like Reagan Before Him, Bush Mourns Shuttle Loss
The condolence speech to the nation regarding the Shuttle Columbia.
The president at the time of the Columbia disaster was George Walker Bush.He not only was engaged in the biggest fraud against the American people by selling false allogations against Saddam Hussein to the UN Security Council; he didn't bother to apologize for being a president that doesn't believe in sound science. He should have stated right there and then he was an Ex and Failed Texas Oil man who was desperate for a job that would safisfy the needs of those left behind by the advancement of society on it's way to a bright future.
George Walker Bush is the most incompetent president this country has ever known and cannot be trusted with ANY FORM of scientific investigation, including the Shuttle Fleet and it's safety.
The scientific programs of this country need to be suspended as they are in danger of causing death. George Walker Bush stands behind 'Junk Science' to the point where he allows advocates to demand the return of men freed from death row based on DNA evidence.
He is a danger to this country and will start a war to save his own priorities regardless of the destructful nature to this nation !!!
He needs, along with Cheney, to be impeached ASAP !
.........................................................
My fellow Americans, this day has brought terrible news and great sadness to our country. At 9:00 a.m. this morning, Mission Control in Houston lost contact with our space shuttle Columbia. A short time later, debris was seen falling from the skies above Texas. The Columbia is lost; there are no survivors.
The vice president at the time of the Columbia disaster was Republican Dick Cheney. At the time this was happening he was in the throes of supporting George Walker Bush and Colin Powell in the 'SCHEME' of a lifetime that would place Halliburton in Iraq providing profits so his liability to the stockholders would be relieved. The Halliburton stockholders had sued Dick Cheney when they discovered he had cooked the books as CEO revealing lost profits.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Feb. 5--As search teams continue to find remains of Space Shuttle Columbia and its seven astronauts, urban legends and hoaxes are already spreading. The most notable is being perpetuated by a video image supposedly taken from inside Columbia's cockpit. The Israeli newspaper Maariv published a snapshot (above) and explained that video was being shot as Ilan Ramon, the first Israeli astronaut, was communicating by radio with the prime minister of Israel, Ariel Sharon. Allegedly, the cameraman meant to give Sharon a view of the Earth. The image, the paper wrote, shows cracks and other marks on the upper part of the shuttle's left wing.

At about 8 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2003, approximately 10 minutes before the Space Shuttle Columbia was scheduled to lower its landing gear, NASA lost communications with the shuttle and received no further tracking data. The shuttle was lost–and debris rained down over east Texas and Louisiana. The Texas geospatial community sprang into action.
The first maps were generated quickly. The Stephen F. Austin State University’s Forest Resources Institute in Nacogdoches developed the first Base Search Vector (a buffered line drawn over a basemap that delineated the initial search area) by mapping coordinates of initial reports of shuttle materials on the ground. See maps at: http://www.fri.sfasu.edu/Columbia/pages/pub_maps.html
Ronald Reagan: The Space Shuttle "Challenger" Tragedy Address
The President that would put NASA under unrelenting pressure to make the space program profitable would later meet with the reality of that decision.
This was Republican President Ronald Reagan making a address to the nation regarding "Challenger."
He never said he was sorry for that fateful decision to IGNORE all the warnings of a very competent scientist.
The crew of "Challenger" succumbed to greed !
(Click on above link to hear the speech)
The Challenger disaster was COMPLETELY PREVENTABLE.
Completely preventage.
The families of the astronauts and crew that perished that day felt the program must go on in the face of failure. At the time they expressed this it was in grief. They would not know until some time later their loved ones were lost when it was completely preventable.
It is unfair for those that lose family to ask them to go against the 'spirit' of a noble program when that is all they have to hold on to. They should have the memory of those they love intact as they need it to go on this world. It is up to the rest of us to see past the incompetency and deal with it.
The Challenger disaster
The reasons why !
(Kindly click on this link)
It's called an O Ring. NASA knew long before this happend this could potentially happen. They profoundly knew it as a whistleblower was fired over the controversy he knew was not just objection but an impending disaster.

The Liar in Bolton
THE Obstructionist Republicans continue to stop the files the confirmation committee is requesting.
State Dept. Now Says Bolton Interviewed
By Mark Sherman / Associated Press
WASHINGTON - John Bolton, President Bush's nominee for U.N. ambassador, mistakenly told Congress he had not been interviewed or testified in any investigation over the past five years, the State Department said Thursday.
Bolton was interviewed by the State Department inspector general in 2003 as part of a joint investigation with the Central Intelligence Agency into prewar Iraqi attempts to buy nuclear materials from Niger, State Department spokesman Noel Clay said.
The admission came hours after another State Department official said Bolton had correctly answered a Senate questionnaire when he wrote that he has not testified to a grand jury or been interviewed by investigators in any inquiry over the past five years.
The reversal followed persistent Democratic attempts to question Bolton's veracity just days before Bush may use his authority to make him United Nations ambassador after Congress adjourns for its summer recess. For months, Democrats have prevented the Senate from confirming the fiery conservative to the post.
"It seems unusual that Mr. Bolton would not remember his involvement in such a serious matter," said Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., the senior Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. "In my mind, this raises more questions that need to be answered. I hope President Bush will not make the mistake of recess appointing Mr. Bolton."
The new information does not change the Bush administration's commitment to Bolton's nomination, said a senior State Department official who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the political sensitivity of the subject.
When Bolton filled out a Senate questionnaire in March in connection with his nomination, "he didn't recall being interviewed by the State Department's inspector general. Therefore, his form, as submitted, was inaccurate," Clay said. "He will correct it."
Clay said Bolton, formerly undersecretary for arms control and international security, had no role in a separate criminal investigation into the leak of an undercover CIA official's identity.
The response came after Biden wrote to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice asserting Bolton had been interviewed and suggesting he had not been truthful in his questionnaire.
Biden learned about the interview by asking the inspector general's office, according to a Democratic committee aide who spoke on condition of anonymity because the aide was not authorized to be identified in news reports.
Democrats have tried to turn up the pressure on Bolton, hoping to persuade Bush not to appoint him on a temporary basis while Congress is on its summer recess.
Rice and other officials refused to rule out a recess appointment for Bolton. "What we can't be is without leadership at the United Nations," Rice said on the PBS' "NewsHour With Jim Lehrer."
While the State Department and criminal investigations are independent, they spring from the same source — intelligence that Iraq was trying to buy materials in Africa to produce nuclear weapons.
In the criminal probe, a federal grand jury is investigating who leaked the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame to the news media. Biden had earlier asked Rice about a report that Bolton was among State undersecretaries who "gave testimony" about a classified memo that has become an important piece of evidence in the leak investigation.
Plame is the wife of former U.S. Ambassador Joseph Wilson, who was sent by the CIA in 2002 to check out the intelligence about Iraqi nuclear intentions. Wilson could not verify it and his public criticism of Bush's Iraq policy in July 2003 set in motion a chain of events that led to an ongoing criminal investigation and the jailing of a New York Times reporter who refused to cooperate with it.
Syndicated columnist Robert Novak, citing unidentified Bush administration officials, was the first to disclose in July 2003 that Plame worked for the CIA and suggested her husband for the Niger trip. Time magazine reporter Matt Cooper wrote a subsequent story and included her name.
It can be illegal to reveal the identity of an undercover CIA official. Wilson has accused the White House of trying to discredit him because he accused the White House of twisting intelligence to justify an Iraq invasion.
It is unknown whether Novak has cooperated with investigators, but prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has said in court papers that his investigation was complete as far back as October 2004, except for the testimony of two reporters — Cooper and the Times' Judith Miller.
Cooper has since testified before the grand jury. Miller has been in jail since July 6 for refusing to cooperate with Fitzgerald.
Bush political aide Karl Rove and vice presidential chief of staff Lewis "Scooter" Libby were among Cooper's sources, he reported following his grand jury appearance. They are among several high-ranking administration officials who have given grand jury testimony.
While Rove has not disputed that he told Cooper that Wilson's wife worked for the agency, he has insisted through his lawyer that he did not mention her by name.
Among the many mysteries in this case is that there was apparently at least one other government official who disclosed to a reporter that Wilson's wife worked for the CIA. Walter Pincus, a Washington Post reporter, wrote in the summer edition of the Nieman Foundation publication Nieman Reports that the official talked to him two days before Novak published his column.
Pincus did not disclose his source. But he said he has cooperated with prosecutors and that his source also has been interviewed.

John Bolton, the nominee to the United Nations who would see the end of The World Courts and changes at the United Nations to make it serve the Business Cronies of the Bush Oval Office. He has a long record of abusive policy advocacy and abuse of co-workers.
"He didn't recall being interviewed by the State Department's inspector general. Therefore, his form, as submitted, was inaccurate... He will correct it."-- State Department spokesman Noel Clay
John Bolton's Attempt to Instill World War rather than Benevolence
Bolton's mischief
AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF of studies and negotiations, the United Nations recently came up with a draft proposal calling for extensive internal reforms and world action against injustice, poverty and environmental catastrophe. Last week, soon after being appointed U.N. ambassador by President Bush, John Bolton may have sabotaged the entire effort. Now that's getting things done.
Bolton has introduced hundreds of amendments to the 62-page draft, which is supposed to be signed by the leaders of 175 nations during the U.N.'s 60th anniversary summit starting Sept. 14. Other nations, notably Russia, also have objections to the draft proposal and have submitted their own amendments, but they haven't caused the same turmoil.
Bolton's amendments have been received like a wasp's nest at a picnic. Throughout the drafting process, a fragile consensus had been built; now everything may end up back on the table, and time is extremely short. A core group of 32 nations is scrambling to finalize a document by Friday, to be submitted to member states on Tuesday. U.N. diplomats fear that the only way to reach consensus will be to water down the draft until it is all but meaningless.
The original proposal spelled out internal U.N. reforms, such as creation of a new human rights panel that would exclude rights violators, as well as pledges of increased foreign aid, measures to combat climate change and calls for nuclear disarmament. Bolton's amendments focus on cutting references to international efforts the U.S. has opposed, such as the International Criminal Court, while strengthening sections on spreading democracy, freeing markets and fighting terrorism.
His most odious change was to delete all references to the Millennium Development Goals, which commit industrialized nations to cutting world poverty in half by 2015. Part of the deal was that rich countries would eventually contribute 0.7% of their gross national product to foreign aid. The goals were a world-changing burst of optimism from international leaders in 2000, a recognition that all people have the right to be free from misery, starvation and preventable disease and that those able to pay have some responsibility to alleviate needless suffering.
Most of Europe is moving closer to the 0.7% goal, but the United States has long lagged; last year it contributed 0.16% of national income to foreign aid. Bolton's amendments make it clear that the Bush administration would like to pretend the millennium agreement never happened. This is a slap in the face for the aid organizations and international donors that have been working for years toward meeting the Millennium Development Goals. But it's far worse than that for the Third World, where their abandonment would be a death sentence for millions.

The Pat Robertson 'Turd Blossom'
Hugo Chavez vs. America
By Dale HurdCBN News Sr. Reporter
CBN.com – CARACAS, Venezuela - His name is Hugo Chavez. He is the president of oil-rich Venezuela. Mr. Chavez has decided that America is his enemy, so he is building up his army. He has forged an alliance with Fidel Castro, and many think he is going to make trouble for the United States.
Chavez believes he is in a fight with the devil. But the devil that Chavez fights does not reside in Hell. Chavez believes that the devil resides in Washington.
Chavez has actually been on a collision course with Washington for years. But for the most part, Washington was not paying attention. It is now.
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld toured South America recently, trying to fight back against Chavez’ growing influence, but Washington’s concern comes very late in the game, and now a new Cuban-Venezuelan alliance, bankrolled by oil profits, threatens to create a block of anti-American states across Latin America.
But Washington's concern has been too little too late, and now some fear that a new Cuban-Venezuelan alliance has a plan to create a new block of Leftist-run, anti-American states across Central and South America.

You think I am joking.
Not.
Bush calls Karl Rove "Turd Blossom"
Karl Rove is the beginning of all issues that Bush has to find the noble end to. The beginning of the end of the covert status of a CIA agent was a Rove Blossom to end Joe Wilson's opinion of the Iraqi - Niger connection.
Turd Blossoms lead to the heroic decision of 'Shit or get off the pot."
Seriously. These men are not gentlemen. Not even close ! Note Rove's picture giving everyone the high five to his nose.
